Whilst out enjoying the sunshine (and a couple of beers) I was talking to a mate who told me that the chickens that we have are a breed called Warrens.  They are a hybrid bred specially for battery egg production – the 4 we have are living a much better life in our garden than any battery hen.  The feathers are shining and some that were missig when we first got them have grown back.  All in all they are very happy chickens and a happy chicken lays eggs
